Easter Letter 2022

“I am the resurrection and the life, whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die...”

John 11:25-26

Dear brothers and sisters

As we hear in the Gospel of John if we believe in Jesus we will have eternal life in heaven. It is our relationship with Him that each of us strives for so we can grow in our faith and share in the promise of everlasting life.

While reflecting on our spiritual life we can find our meaning and new beginnings through Jesus. Even during these challenging times: Covid, street violence, and the war between Russia and Ukraine. In a time in which we have been witnessing images of people sick with Covid, gunshots in our neighborhoods, Ukrainians fleeing the calamities of a war. Here at home, the Lenten season gives us an opportunity for a fresh start by rethinking how I have been thankful for my health, the person next to me, enjoy the freedom and justice that our county offers us. At Mary Queen of Heaven there are many ways we can begin to strengthen our faith. To name some this Lenten you were given and invited to wear the pin in shape of a cross as a sign of commitment to a true transformation so as to die to the sins which provoke a great chasm that prevent us to be the true disciples and missionaries of our Lord, Jesus Christ; by attending or watching Mass, reading the bible, a regular prayer routine, or sharing our gifts with others; therefore this Holy Thursday our collection will go toward Catholic Relief Services to help our brothers and siters in need in Ukraine, and the Collection of Good Friday will go to help “Taller de San Jose” in Little Village which has a ministry of accompaniment to people in different needs. These are all wonderful ways to follow Jesus and live out the Gospel in our lives.

I am extremely happy of what we have accomplished to bring more people to Our Risen Lord. Please join me in supporting our important work by prayerfully considering making a one-time Easter gift of $125 per family or whatever might be possible for you to ensure that our parish ministries and operations may continue. Your Easter gift gifts help us carry out the mission of our parish (Home). Some of the easiest ways to give are with a credit card, by using our secure online giving website DONATE or dropping off a gift at the parish. During this time when some families are not able to give, please know whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated! If you are unable to make a financial donation, I ask that you continue to pray for our family of Mary Queen of Heaven Parish; and know that I am praying for you as well.

Thank you for supporting the mission our home parish. May God bless you and your family during this Lenten season. May the Risen Lord bring joy and peace to your family.

Pax,
